“Children must be taught how to think, not what to think.”
Theodore Roosevelt Warns “To educate a man in mind and not in morals is to educate a menace to society.”
Value and life skills-based education is not the heart of education it should be the education of the heart, a necessary component of holistic citizenship education. It will help us to bring up compassionate, kind and considerate individuals who will excel in their individual as well as social life.
A good individual with values is the need of the hour to improve our social conditions and solve the problems to bring peace and harmony in society.
The asset of a nation is its culture. A nation’s culture resides in the hearts and souls of its people. Right people are the assets of a country, rest are all liabilities. Through education, we should be able to create the right people who are assets rather than liabilities for the nation.
There are two gifts we should give our children; one is roots and the other is wings.
Leadership is about nurturing and enhancing. Let the perspective of education be to nurture and enhance the potential of a child. Let every teacher be a leader who nurtures and enhances the inherent talents and abilities of each child who passes through his/her hands.
Though we cannot go back to make a brand new start, we can start now and create a brand new end. When humans are caught right, the society and the world will become the right place automatically. It’s not the society who changes the individual; it is the individual who can change the society.
As teachers, we can be the torch bearers to invest our lives in putting India on top of the world by making this world a better and the right place to live in.
